In Latex how can write straight quotation marks, not the curved ones?

Merna Fauset: To the first answerer ( presently there is only one, hopefully new a! nswerers will come up): I know how to obtain beginning and ending quotes. The problem is that I don't want these kind of quotes. I want quotes whose initial and final points lie on the same line, i.e. on the line extending from top to bottom.
