Can people call your from a land phone on your skype phone?

Presumably you will get a number that is in your area code or the area code you want people to call from so it is only a local call for them. Hilton Paiva: Skype to Skype calls will work just the way they do on the computer but, with Skype, to get a telephone number you have to pay for an online number.Before buying a Skype handset, you might want to research some of the other VoIP solutions as Skype is more expensive than the others. Look for SIP based protocol as these are the best. Most give you a free telephone number and outgoing calls to landlines are far cheaper than ! Skype's charges. Also, if you go with a SIP based solution, you can buy an ATA that plugs into your router that allows the calls to be routed to your normal phone.
