Elfreda Grossen: yes
Bryant Chaudhry: this is a cool idea, but who is willing to spend hours there to control the helicopter.I still suggest the home security system..at least it can help to monitor the home 7/24 hours. For home security, you may visit this site for information:cctvfocal.com
Danette Slotnick: It would spend more than half the time on the charging pad.As for autonomously tracking a car, that gets into all sorts of safety issues not to mention the computing power required to track the car.Basically a nice idea that would get lots of press coverage etc... but not a practical crime fighting system without having someone monitoring it full time. Someone would probably wait until it landed to recharge and then steal it.In 5-10 years time the answer may be different. As for a practical today system I'd look into wifi webcams from someone like foscam. They cost about $100 each for a fixed location outdoor one with night vision. You need a wifi hotspot wi! thing range and wired power but that's not normally too hard to set up. Or you can do power over ethernet and run a network cable but skip the power cable.Any half decent camera will allow you to set it up to automatically email/ftp photos any time that motion is detected so you can set them up to send photos to gmail, dropbox or some similar cloud based storage whenever someone walks into view....Show more
Terrell Voltz: Leave an iphone in the car. Then track it's gps location on a web browser.
