Hilde Heskett: Now, the question seems pretty vauge to me and I need help undertstaning it.It is - 'Why might Arthur Miller be trying to show the abuse of power in The Crucible?'
Arlen Hamper: I agree so much and have been thinking the same thing
Salvador Prchlik: You are right. I liked the one where someone asked how to use a couple of words in a sentence, and one of the people who answered used those words in a sentence having to do with the person doing their own homework. Wish I remember what it was.
Herma Ellebrecht: I agree with you but doing the exercises keeps your brain active and so-forth, so it is good to find the answers.
Guy Bonamico: You are COMPLETELY right, I could not agree more. I remember having to work it out myself, they should too. I, like you, am more than willing to help someone out who just wants to know HOW to do it, but I absolutely refuse to just cough up an answer. Although I do find it entertaining to see some of the! obviously incorrect answers that are given to these kids, and wonder how many of them turn in their homework with them!! LOL
Rheba Cockman: The abuse of power in the Crucible is all about the power of the girl. She has fooled everyone in the belief and has caused a matter of chaos. The whole book symbolizes the Communist Red Scare in which innocents were persecuted for belief to be Communist spies and it went too far much like these witch trials.
Kelly Bistodeau: Hi, I need some help on this problem for my finance class. I've been trying to do it all day but cant get it.When Marilyn Monroe died in 1962, ex-husband Joe DiMaggio vowed to place fresh flowers on her grave every Sunday as long as he lived, and DiMaggio lived 37 more years after her death. The week after she died, a bouquet of fresh flowers that the former baseball player though appropriate for a huge star cost $5. Assume that the stated annual interest rate (APR) is 10.4%, compounded weekly. Als! o assume that the price of the flowers will increase at 3.9% p! er year, when expressed as a stated APR, compounded weekly. If each year has 52 weeks, what is the present value of this commitment? DiMaggio began purchasing flowers the week after Monroe died. Please help! Thank You...Show more
Verena Koop: The math stuff is a bit much for me, but DiMaggio sent flowers to her grave THREE times a week for TWENTY years. He paid the bill in full at the time he made the first order, and the last order of flowers placed on her grave was in 1982.
Sonya Volcko: I'll give you a little background on The Crucible. He was trying to show the abuse of power, but not the abuse that existed in Salem.Arthur Miller wrote the play in 1951. He was inspired by Sen. Joseph McCarthy's witch hunts on the Senate UnAmerican Activities Committee. McCarthy accused a large number of prominent people of being communists. without any evidence. McCarthy was eventually expelled from the senate for his abuse of power.
Giovanna Cramblit: I agree. I thi! nk they should take that category out altogether. First of all, they shouldn't be relying on people out in cyberland who they never met to help them and who do not have their best interest at heart (sometimes) and can tell them the wrong answer. That's what their parents should be doing and these kids shouldn't be online while doing their homework unless it's necessary to the assignment like a research project or something.
Ronny Nowzari: Yes you are right but what amazes me is so many adults actually give them all the answers lol.I tell them I'm going to contact their mothers and fathers so stop trying to cheat and just getter done lol
Giovanna Cramblit: lol... if only we could tell their parents.
Morris Olexy: You've got another person agreeing here! I have no problems in helping out with technical help (grammar, spelling, explainations) but I'm sick and tired of these people asking for the work to be done for them.Have to admit - I got a little snark! y with one of the many looking where they could read a certain book "on! line" . I told him/her "it's a book. Find it in the library. Lots of printed pages. Read it."Oh well - laziness will soon end when they actually have to earn a living and find out that the world won't do it for them....Show more
Tory Clapper: I totally agree with you.. i helped a girl and i showed her the examples and a min later she posted 2 more math questions!!!ONE GREAT EXAMPLE!!http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060916213......Show more
Gilberto Cratin: I totally agree! THe name "Yahoo Answers" doesn't imply an easy way out on your homework. I'm all for explaining users how to solve a problem. I almost always give an explanation on how to arrive at an answer, and I find that more useful that just giving the answer."Teach someone to fish instead of catching a fish and giving it to them", or something like that. lol....Show more
Lashawnda Anteby: I've been stuck on this question for awhile now. It's from the speech that V gives over the news ! that everyone's sees. From V for Vendetta
Charissa Riley: Yes, it is unfortunate how some kids here want an answer, not help on a problem. You break it down for them, some people will even give answers. A minute later you will see another question from them, just like the previous one!No, I don't give wrong answers. I answer to the best of my knowledge (maybe not to the full extent of it, though). I simply cannot mislead one on purpose. This is inethical. Yes, they will find another way to cheat. Not every kid is like that. I have seen something like "give me clues, but not answers, please" but unfortunately people are still ranting out the answers! Poor kid wrote "No more answers please" in the comments (probably didn't know how to delete the question.). They don't know how to reformulate the question to look for clues not answers.Be more selective of the questions. Don't answer lazy ones....Show more
Marco Stolarz: You took the words right out of my brain. Any! one who give these kids the answers to homework assignments is enabling! them to be cheaters and slackers. There is a reason for homework. It is to teach kids how to do research or how to solve problems. They need to read books and do math problems. I think that the category of Homework Help should be eliminated. It's not help; it's cheating.
Soraya Coodey: V was calling upon people to protest against the government that kept peace and harmony in the nation. This government had to take certain measures to discipline the "extremists" who launched biological warfare but since all the terrorist groups have been apprehendid it was essential to submit all decision making to the hands of the high chancellor and his officers. In short, it was a speech of hatred because V was trying to disrupt the peace by asking people to go into chaos and civil disobedience which would be harmful to the peaceful citizens (or so the government would have the people believe)....Show more
Soraya Coodey: times have changed. now, the internet is a legitimate re! search tool, and it is indeed fair to use it for research, including asking for help. however, if they get help with homework, but don't understand it, they'll still flunk the exams.
Debora Soliani: send me a visa and airticket
Jene Kostyla: I say we should just go around answering their questions wrong on purpose. Once they start getting all wrong answers on their homework maybe they'll deside they're better off doing it themselves... or they'll just find another way to cheat.
Rose Krouse: Why would they realize that when someone always gives them the answer on here.
