Darren Heling: I just recently did some research myself and asked friends on whatformat to buy. I ended up getting the miniDV format from Sony (model hdr-hc5 for $1050 at Bestbuy). I know you want somethingcheaper. I just bought the camcorder yesterday and haven't tryit out yet.
