Sonya Volcko: cash or cashiers check
Jesusita Dykhoff: Once a price is agreed upon I would request that the buyer meet you at your bank and accept nothing but a certified bank draft or cash. This is for your protection and the protectionof the buyer. Handle the transaction with a bank official present. It allows your bank to verify funds from a check before you accept it and it allows for the safe transfer of large sums of cash....Show more
Seema Hosfeld: It is either cash or a cashiers check or go to the bank and make them write you a check and cash it then deposit the cash in your bank. No other way. Do it all the time buy and sell cars fix them up and then sell for profit. I pay cash and only take cash the way i said. I have purchased a few over 6 grand paid cash.
Clinton Quant: Heres where you stand legally Since you wrote sold as seen on the receipt, the driver only has any legal recourse if you could legally be considered an expert (such as a mec! hanic) who might be expected to be aware of any faults, and then you could be justifiably expected to put such faults right. As a private seller you cannot be judged to be expected to know of all faults a car might have and could not be expected to have been aware of them at the time of the sale. The fact that you have pointed out the faults you were aware of, and offered to allow an inspection will surely stand in your favour in the unlikely event this case does go to court (and I am so sure it wont if it does ill buy you a bottle of scotch). I recommend that you contact the buyer and point out you were unaware of the faults, and also that you had offered to let him have the inspection done before the sale, and also that his receipt was marked 'sold as seen' therefore absolving you of any further responsibilty. Good luck!...Show more
Agustina Stimmel: Cash is king.
Donovan Stallons: I wouldn't take anything but cash or a certified bank check, cashiers check. I ! wouldn't take a personal check because it could be rubber! Pr! otect yourself because it is alot easier to deal with that then deal with a scam down the road!Good Luck
