Donnell Mollo: Whats going on when the amp goes into protection? What subs are you using? How are the subs wired? What amp are you using?Have you checked wires to make sure non of them are grounding out?
Oswaldo Rayburn: mmm
Elli Esaw: Just because a sub says it's 1000 watts RMS doesn't automatically mean it's going ot be loud. The input sensitivity of a sub is very important.Example, two subs each 1000 RMS. One is 87dB the other is 92dB. The 92dB sub will be louder. Here is a guide that will calculate what size alternator and power wires you need http://www.box.net/shared/uchv4dbk88You will need Microsoft Excel. If you don't have Excel, use this link http://www.box.net/shared/nkkw1dhk4gOther factors such as type of enclosure, cabin gain, placement, etc. all effect output....Show more
Cody Petrulis: could be overheating
Joellen Zorrilla: if i were you i would go to an upscale pawn shop and buy an 800 to a 1000 watt amp (so its cheaper) and so you dont! have to turn it up all the way so you dont over-push the amp. some 8's sound rally good and suttle on an amp
Patricia Dornbos: it sounds like u have the premier spl 3000s and i have the same subs but i have two...my major problem that i have is my car doesnt generate enough power...i had to buy 2 extra batteries and a capacitor just to kinda push them...and they still turn off when u turn the bass up too high...so check the voltage going to the amp...because spl's slump...hard
Shaunta Paap: Sony has made at least six different '1000 watt' amplifiers. Without knowing which one you have, no one can do more than guess at how it would work with your subs.
Ramona Pago: put in a high power capacitors, a normal battery wont produce enough juice to power the amp properly, then you might wanna go with a bigger more hollow ported box, with 1.25 cubic feet and a powerful sub all you get is a thump, not the boooom we all are in search of, this is my opinion
Ver! ena Koop: Pioneer TS-W304R
Andre Winegar: Taj A, www.bar! gainshoreclub.com carries cheap flea market crap. Nothing that they carry is of any decent quality. The best thing that they carry are Fahrenheit LCD monitors, and those still suck.Check out www.sonicelectronix.comThey carry the 8" JL Audio W7. They are 500 watts rms, and are 3 OHM. If you get a pair you will need to get a 0.5 OHM stable amp. But knowing the W7 ( I am not a fan of JL at all, I hate them, but the W7 is the best 8" sub right now) a single 8" will do the trick for you.
Mee Blumenfeld: speakers in the wrong place.
Jonathan Schlussel: bring it back to the dealership....let them have a look at it....if its a problem they can fix it.
Florencio Dingle: PUNCH THE CHIT OUT OF IT!
Sena Highman: im looking to buy an 8 inch sub to replace my old facotry one. If i get a 300 to 600 watt sub what size amp should i get? Do I even need an amp?
Alberto Kozub: i have a 2400 watt amp nd 2 1200 watt subs.. and all of a sudden my amp shuts of nd go! es into protect mode..??
Vita Moodie: make your car watch to Dr. Phil
Ezekiel Kadner: Call your dealership and see how much power your alternator generates. That could be the source of your problem.
Jayson Brod: I am very educated on car audio and know alot about it but what I am trying to say is that my friend has 2 of these subs and when he disconnects 1 and just plays 1 its sounds at least 2x better than mine and im running it on a better amp than him. I mean my lights in my car do dim quite badly and so does his but I can't find the reason why mine is so quiet
Blaine Connett: there might be some setting on the amp itself to turn it up, or your head unit may have a setting that tells it you are using subs, mine does.
Kenneth Blacker: It could be a few reasons. You're stereo could be the problem. If it doesn't have subwoofer RCA jacks for output, i'd recommend getting a stereo that does. You could have too small of a ground wire, or hot wire! . The settings on your amp could be turned down. You could have somethi! ng wired up wrong. If you can't get it working I'd suggest getting it professionally installed. Incorrectly installing a car audio system could damage your components. It also could be how you have your woofers wired up. Some speakers, or amps don't support 1ohm. I have a 800watt system and it's at 2ohms with my dual voice coil woofers wired in parallel....Show more
An Cardine: i recommend buying from this store considering its excellent quality car audio.www.bargainshoreclub.com
