When is it appropriate to start doing your own laundry?

Rodolfo Merel: Sure is - My daughter is 12 and she does her own and my son has been doing his own since about 14 or so.

Barrett Felicia: Most washers and dryers are very simple to operate, and you just need to read the labels on your clothes. Tell your mom you want to start doing your own and she'll probably be thrilled to have less to do. She may still rope you into helping her fold laundry anyway, but she's kind of allowed to do that.

Launa Weingarten: 15 is more than old enough to be doing your own laundry. Look at it this way: at 16 you'll be old enough to drive a car in most places. Doing laundry is extremely simple compared to driving a car, and it's almost impossible to hurt someone while doing laundry.

Benny Stehno: sure but dont all the laundry go in the same basket and go in at the same time but just seperated from the darks and whites? if so then you should start doing the laundry for everyone and take a lot of work off your mums hands

T! ereasa Sorensen: I started learning to do my own laundry when I was 8. By the time I was 12 I was doing it all on my own.

Kimberlee Bowdish: Yes it will be less to do for your mom. I am sure she will be gladd and proud of you if you did.

Hal Palowoda: My two older kids started doing their own laundry when they were 14 or 15. If you want to start doing your own laundry, why don't you just ask your mom about it? I'm sure she would appreciate having that chore taken off her hands!

Donella Vasta: yes i have three boys, they started doing their own laundry around 12. you need to learn to take care of yourself and this is one way to start, i'm not saying to do all of the laundry, i'm saying yours.

Stanton Villao: Right now is probably an ideal time to start, I'd say. You'll need to do your own laundry eventually, and it's MUCH easier (and less embarrassing) to learn when you're 15 and living with your mom than when you're 20 and out on your own. As an add! ed benefit, you'll set a good example for your younger sibling! s and help your mom.

Venetta Coulbourne: i've been doing my own laundry since 12, as both my parents worked.

Lolita Deschamp: Your a long time from when you could've started. I did my laundry and some of my moms when I was nine.

Toshia Metzker: ofcourse 15 is not even too early i did since my 12

Hilde Heskett: Heck yeah! My daughter is 12 and does her own. Even my 7 year old can do laundry with some slight supervision. Its not rocket science. Its just like anything else...you'll screw up a few times here and there but learn from your mistakes and move on.

Cody Shimko: i was 13 when i started n i was glad i did because i could wash what i wanted n get it done when it needed done. doesnt hurt giving it a shot just practice on some underwear or on some bed sheets-no one sees them if something happens lol. wash them in cold water n a small amount of laundry soap(the less the better-u can always rewash) good luck

Cyndy Grimes: 7 is old en! ough to do your own laundry
