Davida Gisriel: February 16, 2010 is the day I started becoming a vegetarian and I plan on going vegan in the future.

Jayson Brod: My 11th birthday I am a vegetarian and nearly a vegan......I just can't give up chocolate :/
Virgil Menefee: I became one August first, too!! WOO! keep it goin, good luck (:
Carli Watterson: hey i became a vegetarian early this month too! yay for us :P
Elvin Mannheimer: I became vegetarian about 5 years ago then about 2 years ago I became strict vegetarian (foolishly thinking I was vegan because I like many people thought it was a diet not a full on lifestyle) and then about 1.5 years ago I took the extra little step and became vegan and now I actually fully realize what veganism really means. I just wish I could have gone back to when I was a kid and smack myself for ever using and abusing animals. It is very sad when nobody really teaches about it in schools even thoug! h they should.Being vegan and staying vegan for life is not really something to choose it is a moral imperative. We have no right forcing our diets and lifestyles on other creatures and that is what we do as omnivores and vegetarians. Yes we all want things but we cannot just take them especially when it concerns other lives. If we allowed that we would have a lot of happy pedophiles and rapists running around doing what they want and personally I wouldn't want that ever so I cannot very well make that decision for the animals and become a carnist or even just eat eggs or dairy or wear leather or whatever.Going vegetarian is for sure a step in the right direction and I applaud those who have gone vegetarian but there is still a ways to go.Also to weird symbol-y persyn there is plenty of vegan chocolate out there and I have several bars of it in my freezer (so I don't eat it all at once) and can get plenty more from candy bars (go max) to various chocolate bars dark and even! vegan milk choco. Animals shouldn't be treated as property ju! st because you want dairy filled chocolate and they don't need too be.http://www.gomaxgofoods.com/http://www.godairyfree.org/200805262554/News/Nutri... Rhett Kaines: I'm 17 and way 135 lbs and I'm a guy.
Heidy Fujikake: when they are the size of a child's football and very deep purple, they should be firm to the touch and smell kinda earthly.they are wonderful made into a eggplant lasagna.just follow a recipe for lasagna and use slices of e! ggplant instead of noodles.yummmie.
Samatha Nicar: I don't why but I'm like addicted to bananas. I can eat sometimes 5 of those big bananas every day, sometimes with real honeybee honey. Will this make me gain weight? I'm not really worried about potassium poisoning, because if I feel sick or something I'll just eat less bananas.
Zora Mazzie: 1st july 2010 vegetariantrying vegan since 3-4 days ago. so yeah (: think i can do it hahah.
Douglass Sarley: I became a vegetarian around 5 years ago and a vegan about 1 year ago.
Antone Youla: July 7th 2010 and still going!
Andre Winegar: Late 2007, during culinary school.
Daria Verfaillie: I gave up milk and cheese before I gave up meat. As long as you do it at a pace that suits your personality its all good. You just have to make sure you are looking at food differently as you change your diet. Many people fail because they have kind of a hedonistic relationship with food. They rationalize bad c! hoices by saying the pleasure of eating outweighs how you feel after th! e fact. The great thing about being vegan is that if you do it right, not only does the food taste good but you feel good after you eat it too. When I was transitioning, I had temptations. Going out to eat was tough, I mean Pizza, breakfast desserts, they all tasted great. But you have to tell yourself that these foods are playing you the fool. They taste good but they make you less healthy. I had to make them the enemy in order not to be tempted anymore. Not everybody needs to be as extreme, but when you find yourself "cheating" once or twice a week and getting dairy aches afterwards something must be done. lol. In all honesty I loved cheese too, but you don't realize how much cheese messes you up until you go without for a few weeks. It makes you so tired, weights you down and does not make digestion go smoothly. Good luck and I hope you decide to go through with this positive life choice....Show more
Zulema Baccam: swimmers often eat a lot of bananas to put on weig! ht to swim long distancesHoney is like sugar, so that can be unhealthy if you eat too muchI would broaden your range of fruit
Kellie Waycott: ahh' i started being vegetarian when i was 12.now i'm 13, i've been a vegan like almost a 8 months now, it feels better.(: it's great. :)
Marcia Cheathan: When they are purple:)
Shaunta Paap: Okay, so I am not completely vegan yet, but i have stopped buying and eating most non-vegan foods. Every year when I see my uncle, he gives me several jars of honey from bees that he keeps himself as a hobby. He doesn't sell the honey, but only gives the honey to family, and there are no other beekeepers or companies involved. He does not use any drugs to harm the bees, and i was wondering if it would be alright for me to eat the honey from my uncle. This is the only honey i eat anyway. What do you all think?...Show more
Reginald Maxi: It's a judgment call. If you feel that he uses humane practices with the bees and it ! doesn't bother you, go ahead. Honey is actually very healthy for you, b! ut make sure you eat it raw. Does he refine the honey before giving to you? It's most healthy in it's natural state. And by the way, you say that you're making the transition to vegan. I'm of the opinion that it's better to use what you already own than to go out and buy new just because it's vegan. There are many people who will throw away a perfectly good pair of leather shoes and then go out and buy a new pair that are vegan. You aren't adding to the problem by using what you already own, and you're helping the environment. Everytime you buy something new, it has to be produced in a factory and driven to the store. Every little bit hurts the environment more and animals are hit every day on the way from the factory to the store. I think this goes for your food as well. Eat the animal products you have in your kitchen, but don't buy any more. When it comes to clothes, it's best to buy used, even if it contains leather or another animal product. When you buy used you're hon! oring the animal by not throwing it away and you're reusing perfectly good items. Buying used and using up what you have in your kitchen isn't supporting the mistreatment of animals and is helping the environment, which helps us all. This is my take on veganism....Show more
Paul Maymi: I became a vegetarian after 2010 started. I never ate much meat before that, but I decided to give it up all together. I love it! So far, I've slipped up a few times by eating like marshmallows without knowing they weren't vegetarian, but I'm doing what I can!
Jorge Gerrero: Aww I wish I knew the exact date! I just know that it was sometime in October of 2005, when I was 11.Good luck, and congrats on becoming veggie! :D
Majorie Chester: I stopped eating red meat and pork when I was a Sophomore in high school (about 4, 5 years ago) and I completely stopped eating any kind of meat including chicken and seafood about two years ago. So I've been completely meat free for about tw! o years.â¥
Wilbert Shellgren: August 4th, 2010 :-). My goal also! is to be Vegan in the future.
Bo Perham: I became a vegetarian a little over 2 years ago.
Donnell Mollo: originally went vegetarian mid-summer 2009, and then went vegan early spring 2010
Avis Brantner: I went vegetarian for my 2010 resolution. I went vegan around March or April. I've had some slip-ups with dairy, and it took some time to phase over to all non animal-tested products, but I'm 100% right now and I'm planning on staying that way for the rest of my life :)
