How do you cook a pot roast??

Maynard Phoubandith: Salt and pepperSear on high heat in 3 tablespoons oil for 5 minutes each side in a large potTake 1/4 pot leftover coffee -add water until the coffeepot is half to 3/4 full with diluted coffee. Add 1 package onion soup mix to roast and pour the diluted coffee in. Bring to a boil and lower and let simmer 1 1/2-2 hours coveredThe coffee really brings out the flavor of the roast. You can take the roast out of the pot and thicken the liquid to make a gravy with corn starch or flour mixed well with water. The gravy is absolutely wonderful. Have plenty of bread on hand to dip in the gravy....Show more

Carolynn Testani: I think it's a custard pie, and the only thing "cake" about it is the name, which is a misnomer.

Joie Kemmis: There is no flour in it which all cakes technically have. So I will list it as pie-ish.

Houston Venezia: I want something to cook tomorrow, anyone got any suggestions on what to cook? If it is a specific recipe, th! at would help... Thanks!

Dwight Siniard: I see a lot of good answers here, but one thing to keep in mind; after cooking it, let it set for 10-15 min. before cutting it. That will hold the juices in & not dry out as fast, giving it alot of flavor. I think Cubby & tri-mama (sp?) have some tasty sounding recipes.

Lita Thammorongsa: I season mine with salt, pepper nad garlic. I then add carrots , onions, and celery. I add a can of beef stock and cook covered until the last half hour. Uncover and brown .Make a gravy from the drippings. Serve with mashed or smashed potatoes.

Gregg Hagge: A cake.

Edmund Rappley: Tuna Salad SandwichCombine tuna, chopped onion, chopped hard boiled egg, diced dill pickles, miracle whip, and some pickle juice together and put the tuna mixture on toasted bread. Eat and enjoy. My parents use the same recipe and will add one slice of tomato, lettuce and sometimes one slice of onion on top of the tuna mixture.

Trena Berum: ! My favorite way is to cook it in my slow cooker/crock pot. I ! put it in to crock, season it, add several quartered pototaes, carrots and onions around it, then pour a can of golden cream of mushroom soup mixed with 1/2 cup water over the top and cook it on low all day. It tastes delicious and the gravy made by the soup and meat juices is wonderful!

Norris Rosener: Quick Tuna Salad INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)1 (7 ounce) can solid white tuna packed in water, drained 1/4 cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whipâ„¢) 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish, or to taste DIRECTIONSMash tuna together with salad dressing and relish in a small bowl with a fork. Serve.

Logan Bero: Better yet, save your health and the animal. Don't cook it.Did you know that it takes years of research and testing of drugs to be approved for human injection? Did you know that drugs injected into animals require....ZERO approval? Did you know that on average 21 forms of NON FDA approved drugs are administered to, for example cows? These same animals after ! years of torture, are also laced with hormones, anti-biotics, feed ridden with pesticides, feed ridden with chicken feces. Did you know that the meat and dairy industry is a multi-million dollar industry that would have you believe otherwise? All those supposed "Government" looking ads on TV/in magazines for milk and beef are not "Government" ads? They are brought to you by the "Industries". It is a big business my friend. A VERY unhealthy business and cruel business....If you only knew what goes on behind closed doors...you would be shocked, angry, and disillusioned. Yup you will lose 10-15 years of your life, and have a 40% higher chance of heart disease, high cholesterol, heart attack, kidney/liver failure, and list goes on, and on, and on, and on.....Just so your Meat and dairy industry executives can laugh all the way to the bank...Enjoy your infested slab of flesh. Bon appetite!...Show more

Russell Mckinzie: Well they call it a cake so its a cake if they called ! it a pie then it would have been a pie!

Danica Timperman: I add s! ome chopped green onion, just to give it a little onion flavor. also some pepper

Zora Mazzie: Get a cook book

Marjory Stromme: Open can, chop finely spring onion and mix in with mayo to taste. Add to a plate filled with grated carrot, dried fruit, baby tomatoes, sliced cucumber, finely sliced apple, green salad leaves, beetroot chutney and boiled, buttered potatoes.Wonderful.

Shemeka Laker: Cake>...>>>>

Ronnie Barcus: No it is a cheese desert called cheesecakebut the dictionary rulespie 1 NOUN: 1: A baked food composed of a pastry shell filled with fruit, meat, cheese, or other ingredients, and usually covered with a pastry crust. 2: A layer cake having cream, custard, or jelly filling. It is desert,,, does it really matter

Hermina Ketring: Season it very well add onion and put in the crock pot with a cup of water...serve with Mashed potatoes and your favorite veggie.

Nia Monopoli: I'm so sorry pet-love, I accidentally hit a thumbs do! wn....The trackpad hit it when I moved my finger...

Luke Creitz: I usually use beef broth, onion (at least one), garlic, celery, basil, parsley and salt and pepper. Cook for as many hours as you can.

Ismael Sixon: cake

Angelyn Ducas:

Ulrike Hert: I add chopped water chestnuts & just a dash of mustard to mine and use the same ingredients that you have listed

Enriqueta Steffen: i think tuna, chopped onion, mayonaise or miricle whip xD, celery, relish, salt, and i dont know anything else i am just doing guess work.

Erin Arron: this is the dessert equivalent to a tomato.i think it's classified as a cake, but it has the characteristics of a pie.

Rocio Karvis: I cook roasts at a low temperature, 325 or so. I sprinkle it with salt, pepper and I use a dry onion soup mix along with with the salt and pepper. I add about a 1/2 cup of water or so, roast it in the oven until about a hour left. Then I add quartered potatoes and carrots.Finish! roasting until the temp is correct. Let the meat stand for about 5 mi! nutes or so before cutting. It helps to keep the meat moist.I use the drippings to make a gravy to use with the potatoes and meat....Show more

Kenneth Thuesen: I use mayo, chopped onions, dill relish, and occasionally add some garlic salt, and pepper. Sometimes I add a boiled egg in it. I am just like you, I like my tuna salad that I make, but then when I go to a restaurant I love theirs so much more than what I make at home. I love it with celery in it too! A friend of mines grandmother used to bake homemade bread and make her tuna salad and OMG it was to die for!! I sure miss those days! Thanks for letting me reminisce.

Agustina Stimmel: A few of the reasons it may seem to taste better:1 Anything you don't have to make for yourself always seems to taste better.2. They allow the flavors to blend. Make your tuna salad a day ahead and refrigerate over night the flavors become more developed.I do not like celery in mine, I think I am allergic to raw celery! , so I like adding chopped up water chestnuts. Same crunch but I don't get a numb mouth. I have also added red pepper flakes and a little sweetener, not much just a little bit. I like the sweet/spicy taste.I have also used a smoke flavoring at times that gives it a flavor like some of the smoked fish spreads I have had in seafood restaurants. You have to go real easy with the smoke though it is very strong.Try using a little plain Greek yogurt rather than mayo, the yogurt has more flavor than mayo.

Sena Highman: I'd say pie, as a cake would have to be baked til it was dry, whereas pies can be made of fruit and sometimes pudding, in which case they are NOT dry!. Pies are ususally heavier like a cheesecake and cakes are usually lighter and fluffier until frosted!

Troy Staton: My two favorite recipes and they are sooo easy. Both get put in crockpot and cook for 5-6 hours. Both equally tasty! I sometimes throw in some peeled potatoes and carrots. Yum!1. 1 r! oast (any of your choice)Mix together in bowl 2 cans cream of mushroom ! soup and 2 cans of cream of celery soup. Add in two packets of Lipton Onion soup mix. Mix the soups together and pour over the roast. 2. 1 roast (your choice)Mix together in cup 2 packets of dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix, 2 Packets of dry Itailan Salad Dressing Mix and 2 packets of dry Brown Gravy mix. Mix them with 1 cup of water and pour over the roast....Show more

Donnell Mollo: I do nothing but salt and pepper it cover for 1/2 of the cooking time and use a meat thermometer, cook it on 325 or maybe 300 the longer it cooks at low temps the better

Sharie Sommerville: Most restaurants use pickle relish and some also add finely diced onion. I leave out the onion, but I just don't like it.

Joaquin Dronko: General Tso's ChickenIngredients:1lb boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut into 1” chunks)5 dried red chili peppers3 green onions (sliced)3 eggs (beaten)½ cup cornstarchoil (for frying)Sauce-1 ½ tablespoons rice vinegar2 tablespoons rice wi! ne3 tablespoons sugar3 tablespoons soy sauce2 teaspoons cornstarchCooking Instructions:Step 1: In a large mixing bowl combine cornstarch and beaten eggs. Bob Pucella: I always make it just with tuna, mayo, and some cut up celery.....but I taste the tuna salad from resteraunts and its so much betterwhat do they put in thatwhat do you put ! in yours?

Ulrike Hert: you want to know the answer? it is bread c! rumbs. I know this does not sound correct, but I have worked in 3 seperate pizza places and they all used some form of bread crumbs added to their tuna. It gives it the flavor you are looking for.try it. you will be suprised. I would suggest using homemade crumbs, but that is up to you.

Efren Clankscales: I'd say a pie because of the pan that you make it in. Plus, it has a crust.
