Ollie Hamiel: Your question is more of a genetics question than genealogy. You might get some better answers if you go under Science and Mathematics then the sub category Biology.Midgets frequently have children that are of average heights.
Pasty Cobbett: Little People of America says anyone under 4' 10" is a midget, according to Wikipedia,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MidgetIt sounds like they were and you didn't inherit the midget gene. That or they grew up in a country where they didn't eat as much meat as we do in the USA (Many Asians don't), and you got on the T-Bone bandwagon.People tend to be much closer to their parents in height than you. My dad was 5' 11". Four out of five of his sons over six feet, but only a bit. My tallest sibling is 6'3"....Show more
Marhta Teahan: That is not a genealogy question. It is a genetics question. They are not the same thing. Genealogy is your family HISTORY....who your ancestors were, where they came from, etc. Gen! etics is a SCIENCE....the study of why you look the way you look. If you re-post this in the biology section, you will get more appropriate responses.
Mercedez Trabue: People nowadays are on average taller than their parents due to better nutrition. Maybe food wasn't plentiful when your parents were young or they suffered from some childhood illnesses which set them back a bit. You'd probably get a better answer in the biology section, despite the name genealogy doesn't deal with how genes are expressed but rather the search for ancestors using records and documents....Show more
